Cutting-edge technology and competence to excel research

The Genomics Core Facility, with a rich history of over 25 years, has been providing state-of-the-art laboratory technology and competence. We specialise in delivering high-throughput genomic services to the Norwegian scientific community. Our extensive repertoire of technologies allows us to study genome structure, dynamics, and function, from bulk sample analysis to single-cell and at spatial resolution. Using cutting-edge Illumina high-throughput sequencing, BeadArray, 10x Genomics and NanoString technologies, we increase the scientific competitiveness of our users by providing easy access to advanced technologies. We also provide basic primary and secondary bioinformatics analysis using our DRAGEN Bio-IT platform, offering a comprehensive end-to-end solution for high-throughput genomic analysis. Our services are equally accessible to all users from our health region, following a first come, first served policy upon sample delivery.

The Genomics Core Facility is a member of the Norwegian Consortium for Sequencing and Personalized Medicine (NorSeq), which runs the National technology platform financed by the Research Council of Norway. In addition, we run the regional technology platforms for high-throughput sequencing in collaboration with our sister core facility at Ullevål Hospital, and we are a University of Oslo-approved core facility.

The Genomics Core Facility is a certified service provider for multiple technologies, including Illumina (CSPro), nanoString nCounter and GeoMx, 10xGenomics and TWIST NGS ProLab, which ensures industry-leading data quality and service standards for genetic analysis applications. Please get in touch with us for a meeting to explore the options we can provide for your project.

The Genomics Core Facility and the Bioinformatics Core Facility offer an online Zoom drop-in every Wednesday between 14:30 and 15:30 to discuss projects and analysis. You can join us by clicking on this LINK.
